Summer Activities

• The Lake George Gathering on Thursday, 7/3, will be lots of fun. Club members will be picked up at Hulett's Landing at 10 AM and transported by boat to the picnicking site. Hulett's Landing does have a parking fee (last year it was $5.00) for the day. So bring your bathing suits, something to drink, and chairs. Everyone bring a dish to share. Chefs Mike and David will prepare hot dogs and hamburgers. A Redneck Horseshoe Court will be set up to test your skill. Hopefully the weather will cooperate, because there is no rain date. • The Summer Picnic on Sunday, 7/27,at 2 PM will be an afternoon of fun and fellowship at Jim & Jean Perry's home on Frisbie Hill Road in Castleton. Everyone bring a dish to share, drinks, and chairs. Jim and Jean have added a lovely heated pool since the last picnic, so bring along a bathing suit and towel too. Demonstration at The VT State Fair

On September 3rd the Cast Off 8's are giving a demonstration between 7:00-9:00 PM at the Vermont State Fair. Dancers should meet at the Sugar House Stage around 6:30 PM. Parking is available on the street south of the fairgrounds. We look forward to a good turn out, as it is great exposure for the club and square dancing in general. Remember - it is a free night at the fair - no admission.

Fall fun nights in Pittsford

September 10th and 17th will be complimentary fun nights at the Lothrop School in Pittsford, VT between 7:00-9:00 PM. Anyone interested in square dancing is welcomed. No experience is necessary - so bring your friends. They will be dancing and having fun the first night. For directions to the Lothrop School, please click here. 2008/2009 Workshops

On September 24, 2008, the Wednesday night workshops will begin for the new square dance year. The workshop will be at the Lothrop School gym in Pittsford, VT, new dancers between 7:00-9:00 PM with two mainstream tips alternating between a plus teaching tip. After 9:00 and until 10:00 PM, there will be a full Plus tip alternating with an All Position Plus tip. So put the dates on your calendar. The dues for club members are $7.50/person and are due in September. The workshop fees starting in September are $10.00/couple (or $5.00/person) and the prepay option is $80.00/couple (or $40.00/person) for a block of ten workshops. For directions click here.

30th Anniversary Dance

On September 21, Cast Off 8’s will have our 30th Anniversary Dance between 1:30 PM and 5:30 PM with Red Bates and Johnny Preston calling. This year the dance will be at the Intermediate School on Library Ave in Rutland. So everyone put on your dancing shoes for a fun filled afternoon. Advanced Blitz Weekend

A special Advanced Blitz Weekend with Ken Ritucci in Manchester, NH, September 26-28, is a weekend designed to introduce Plus Level dancers to the Advanced Level. If you would like additional information, go to the Special Dances Page.
